The US Fish and Wildlife Service has a new director. Yesterday, the Senate voted to confirm Aurelia Skipwith to be director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on a vote of 52 to 39. Skipwith has a degree in biology from Howard University, a degree in molecular genetics from Purdue University, and a law degree from the University of Kentucky; and served as an executive with agribusiness giant Monsanto. Skipwith fills a position that has been vacant since 2016. Greg Sheehan had been appointed Principal Deputy Director for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on June 17th, 2017, but stepped down in August of 2018.
