The dogs are coming back. Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race organizers have announced the 2022 race schedule with the ceremonial start returning this year to Jackson on January 28th.
While the pre-race veterinary exams and drivers’ meetings were held in Jackson this past January, the short ceremonial sprint from Town Square to Snow King which had been one of the hallmarks of the race was canceled out of caution to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 virus among the mushers and the spectators.
The 27th annual seven-stop race will bump through the various communities in Western Wyoming and Eastern Idaho again next year for a total of 302 miles. The Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race is the second largest sled dog race in the country.
