While there are no significant fires in the immediate region to Jackson Hole, the smoke in the valley is fairly significant. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the sources of that smoke are major fires in northern California, Southern Oregon and northern Nevada. Under these smoky conditions, those individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate or smoke levels are encouraged to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity or remain indoors as much as possible. All others, including those who do not have respiratory conditions should also limit prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity as much as possible until the smoke clears.
