Snow King Mountain Resort dedicated its new gondola Saturday morning, offering free rides to those in attendance at the ceremony. The new lift was part of a $20-million improvements project which Snow King President and General Manager Ryan Stanley says has been in development for about ten years.
“When we got the approval late this spring, we sprung to action and got a ton of folks working on this project and put a gondola in, new lifts on the back side, two new magic carpets, new ski runs and a ton of new snow-making equipment on the back of the mountain as well as a new zip line. So, some great new improvements to the oldest ski area in Wyoming!”
Snow King Mountain also installed a fixed grip triple chairlift on the backside of the mountain which opens up approximately eighty acres of new lift accessed terrain and has a new building planned for the summit next year. Snow King Mountain Resort boasts 85 years of operation.
