The warm, dry weather we have been experiencing has pushed back the planned opening day Snow King Mountain Resort to December 11th. The resort’s snowmaking crew has been stumped at night trying to make snow at marginal temperatures, but with falling temperatures, resort officials say it is finally becoming more winter-like.
On Saturday, the Magic Carpet will be opened for lessons at the base of the mountain, and they anticipate opening the Cougar lift soon thereafter. They also hope to have the tube park open before the holidays.
Saturday, December 18th is the date set for the grand opening celebration of the new Snow King Gondola. Ribbon-cutting ceremonies will commence with festivities at the base and summit of the mountain.
