Despite the winter storm that just passed through the area, snow measurements at the sites maintained by the Natural Resources Conservation Service indicate the snow accumulations Northwestern Wyoming’s river basins are still slightly below the 30-year average. Those include the Snake River basin at 91% or normal, Yellowstone at 95%, Wind River at 76% and the Upper Green at 85%. Despite the snow measurements, however, the agency’s report shows the water content slightly above average. Those include the Snake River basin at 104%, Yellowstone at 107%, Wind River at 102% and the Upper Green at 100%. Statewide, the median snow measurement was 107% of the 30-year average as of yesterday.
