Snow in the high country around Jackson Hole continues to pile up. According to the Natural Resources Conservation Service which monitors sites around the state, the Snake River Basin has now seen 114% of average precipitation with a water equivalent of 102%.
The Wind River Basin has received 117% of normal precipitation with a water equivalent of 105%. In the Upper Green River Basin, 117% of the 30-year norm for precipitation has been received with a water content of 97%. Still, much more is needed.
The latest analysis by the National Integrated Drought Information System shows the drought in our region remains but it is improving slightly.
