Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has reported that a snowboarder was fatally injured at the resort yesterday.
At 5 pm Sunday, Feb. 14 a group reported their 27-year-old friend missing after last seeing him in the Grizzly Glade area off the Teton Lift at approximately 10:45 am. A search was initiated by Jackson Hole Ski Patrol last evening until 8:45 pm, and resumed at 6:30 am today, with Grand Teton National Park, Teton County Search and Rescue and Teton County Sheriff all involved to support the effort to find the snowboarder. He was discovered in a tree well earlier this morning where he was found unresponsive.
“We are saddened to report this fatality, and the staff at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort join me in expressing our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victims,” commented Mary Kate Buckley, President of JHMR.
