Snowfall in Northwestern Wyoming has been less than average so far this season, but not by that much. According to the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the total precipitation in the Snake River Basin is currently 89% of normal, ranging from 114% of average at Grand Targhee to 69% at Gros Ventre Summit. The Yellowstone Basin is reported at 95% of normal ranging from 134% at Sylvan Lake to 60% at the White Mill snotel site. The Wind River Basin is in less optimal condition with an overall average of 79% of normal. More importantly, the snow-water content in each of these basins shows only a few percentage point difference from the snowfall measurements.
