One sure sign of the coming ski season in Teton County is the advent of snowmaking on the slopes of area resorts. Snowmaking is beginning at Snow King Mountain Resort this week, well in advance of their anticipated opening December 2nd. Snowmaking is also under way at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to augment the natural snowfall that has been accumulating on the mountain. JHMR, which is scheduled to open November 24th, reports 14 inches mid-mountain and 22 inches at the summit already. Over the pass at Grand Targhee, which is preparing for a November 16th opening, reports 25 inches has already accumulated on their slopes.
