A 27-year-old snowmobiler died Monday afternoon after being buried in an avalanche on Togwotee Pass. The victim has been identified as Dale Walter Clyde Laedtke of New London, Wisconsin. Jessica King of Teton County Search and Rescue says Laedtkewas in a party of four snowmobiling in the snowfields below the Breccia Cliffs when a large avalanche triggered shortly before 3:00 pm. King says Laedtke’s companions unburied him within about five minutes and initiated CPR, but were unable to restore his breathing. Search and Rescue personnel responded with the helicopter due to the remoteness of the incident, but Laedtkewas pronounced dead at the scene.
