Special Olympics Wyoming has announced that it has received a generous grant from Albertsons/Safeway Foundation. The grand comes from proceeds of the annual customer fundraising campaign for people with disabilities conducted earlier this year. Special Olympics Wyoming provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. In Wyoming, more than 1,900 athletes take part in the 55 programs around the state. Sports training and competition are offered in 17 sports. Athletes train and compete in the sports of their choice on a seasonal basis. Four statewide events are held annually including the annual Winter Olympics held in Jackson Hole.
