More hardware for the Jackson Hole High School Speech and Debate Team. The team added a first-place sweepstakes trophy to their successful 2019-2020 season at the Star Valley Speech Tournament, held at Star Valley High School Friday and Saturday.
The Jackson team had 18 individual final advancements and saw three competitors place in all three events in which they were competing. Jackson won the tournament by earning 90 sweepstakes points with five schools in attendance.
Senior Maleah Tuttle earned double championships in Extemporaneous Speaking and Program Oral Interpretation. Senior River Gayton proved her prowess in Informative Speaking with a first-place finish.
Many students that were double entered at the tournament brought home hardware in both of their events. The Jackson team next travels to Evanston this coming weekend.
