A haystack fire outside of Dubois is being blamed on spontaneous combustion. Dubois Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a haystack on fire at the Diamond D Ranch North of Dubois on Horse Creek Road Tuesday. Upon arrival fire units found a large hay stack with fire in the middle of the stack. Firefighters stretched attack lines to suppress the fire, Ranch personnel used their tractors to move hay to allow firefighters to get access to the fire. At the time of the incident the afternoon temperatures were at 9 degrees. Dubois Fire Department was aided by a water tender from Fremont County Fire District Crowheart Station. The fire was extinguished with minimal loss.
