Transparency in health care is a hot topic nationally. St. John’s Medical Center will host its next “Behind the Scenes” event to address this issue on the local level.
“Transparency is an important requirement for health care systems, and one that needs to be addressed in the context of stringent laws that protect patient and employee confidentiality,” said communications officer Karen Connelly.
The community conversation will take place on two dates and times: Monday, December 3 at 6:00 pm, and Tuesday, December 4 at 7:30 am in the St. John’s boardroom. Both events will be facilitated by CEO Paul Beaupré, MD, and other hospital administrators. The one-hour presentation and discussion will focus on the ways St. John’s communicates with its patients and community to address issues of transparency.
“This topic is top-of-mind for many people, including our administration, providers, and staff,” said Connelly. “We appreciate the opportunity to help educate about ways the community can access information about St. John’s Medical Center. We welcome new ideas that people may bring to this conversation.”
