The man who held police off for 13 hours Thursday after allegedly stabbing another man is in police custody and will face attempted murder charges.
40-year-old Riley Sills gave himself up to police shortly after 1:00 pm Thursday. Police responded to the stabbing shortly before midnight the night before.
The 53-year-old unidentified victim in the incident was taken to St. John’s Health and then transferred to Eastern Idaho Medical Center for treatment, and has since been released.
The circumstances surrounding the attack have not yet been released. Jackson Police Chief Michelle Weber says during the course of the 13-hour standoff, 19 police officers and 12 sheriff’s deputies were rotated on the watch.
Residents from the surrounding apartment units were evacuated for the duration of the standoff as a precaution.
