A Star Valley varsity soccer player acting as goalie in the senior night game against Jackson suffered a serious head injury in the last seconds of the first half. With 35 seconds remaining in the half, the unnamed player came out to block a shot, dove for the ball and took the kick directly to his head.
Other players on the field immediately summoned the trainers from both sides who were quickly aided by physicians who were attending the game as spectators. The Jackson ambulance quickly transported him to St. John’s Health where is condition remains unknown. Meanwhile, the game was brought to an immediate end.
