Responding to a new exemption from state health orders, the Town Council and Board of County Commissioners has voted to increase START bus seating to 75% of capacity. This will mean that 30 passengers at a time can ride each bus, whether they are commuter lines or not. Last week, the Commissioners and Town Council approved a contract with Salt Lake Express allowing START to add fives buses to increase service levels from Jackson to Teton Village. These additional buses increase daily passenger capacity by approximately 720 seats. Meanwhile, START Bus is working closely with local health organizations and continuing to take proactive measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic including frequent cleaning schedules for buses, requiring all START Bus operators and passengers to wear masks, having hand sanitizer onboard, improved air flow and filtration systems and the installation of dividers for driver protection.
