Tests indicate the COVID-19 Coronavirus can survive in the air for three hours and on surfaces for three days. Those are the results of a study from Princeton University, UCLA and the National Institutes of Health. Their test results conclude there is no need for direct human contact. All a person as to do is breathe the air or touch a surface and they can become a dual victim and carrier. With such transmission of the disease in mind, START Bus Operations Manager Jeff Deal says each bus is totally wiped down mid-day before going out for the afternoon runs with special attention being given to handrails, doorways and the driver area. All busses including the ADA busses are thoroughly cleaned nightly as well. Deal says operators are also supplied with hand wipes. Members of the public are continuing to be urged to wash their hands frequently and avoid large gatherings as much as possible.
