Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon told reporters Wednesday he is excited about the response the public is giving the phased opening of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks bringing visitors and tourists back into Wyoming. Gordon says to help address the influx of visitors; the state will assure there is sufficient supplies of personal protective equipment for areas impacted by visitation.
Gordon said, “I spoke a lot about Fremont and Teton and Park County, I want to make sure other counties know they’re part of this as well. The visitors that are going to be coming are going to be coming through Wyoming, and we want to make sure that any additional requirements there are of PPEs and other things; this effort is to help businesses by equipping them with public safety tools and resources needed.”
The Governor noted that with the Memorial Day weekend coming up, he encourages people to get out and celebrate the first holiday of the summer, but don’t become careless with personal protection.
At this time, state officials would make no prediction of when the limit on the size of groups gathering or other restrictions will be further relaxed.
