The incident began when LaBarge Police attempted to engage with Fowler at a residence in LaBarge, but he fled, leading to an extensive search operation.
The search involved cooperation from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Sublette County Sheriff’s Office, LaBarge Police Department, and Wyoming Highway Patrol. After a BOLO was issued stating Fowler might have left the area in a pickup truck, a Sublette County deputy spotted the suspect’s vehicle on Highway 191 near Pinedale. Fowler attempted to evade capture, leading to a high-speed chase with speeds up to 100 mph.
The pursuit involved multiple law enforcement agencies and crossed into Sweetwater County. Near Farson, Wyoming Highway Patrol used spike strips to slow Fowler’s vehicle, and following a lockdown of the Farson school district for safety, Troopers performed a PIT maneuver to stop the truck. Fowler was then arrested without further incident and taken to the Sweetwater County Detention Center.
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in ensuring the safety of the public and the successful conclusion of this operation.
