
Teton County has appointed Dr. Travis Riddell, MD, MPH, FAAP, as the new Health Department Director, effective August 1, 2025, in Jackson, Wyoming. Dr. Riddell, currently the Teton District Health Officer, will oversee Community Health, Environmental Health, Nursing and Clinical Services, Diseases and Conditions, and Public Health Preparedness, as announced on April 7th.
Dr. Riddell has served as a pediatrician at Jackson Pediatrics since 2009, acquiring the practice in 2014, and as Teton District Health Officer for 12 years, collaborating with public officials and organizations to enhance health outcomes. His leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic led to high testing and vaccine acceptance, earning him “Jackson Hole Business Person of the Year” in 2020 and “Citizen of the Year” in 2021. He holds degrees from Oregon Health & Science University and completed his residency at Harvard and Boston Universities.
Commissioners’ Administrator Jodie Pond praised Dr. Riddell’s expertise and community focus. Dr. Riddell expressed enthusiasm for advancing health initiatives. He replaces Jodie Pond, who held the role for over a decade.
