Teton County Coroner Brent Blue has classified Peter Wuerslin’s death as a homicide after he suffered an intracranial hemorrhage from a ski collision at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. According to details reported in the Billing’s Gazette, The 71-year-old Jackson resident was critically injured last Sunday when hit by another skier on Rendezvous Trail. Despite efforts to save him, including transport to St. John’s Medical Center and later to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Wuerslin succumbed to his injuries. The other skier involved was treated for injuries and released.
Blue released his classification as to the manner and cause of Wuerslin’s death on Thursday evening. Blue noted that his classification of the manner of death does not mean the Teton County Sheriff’s Office or County Attorney will come to the same conclusion.A final determination has not yet been made but the Teton County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed this collision which occurred on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at approximately 10:00 AM on the Rendezvous Trail at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village.
