Teton County Emergency Management has announced a contest to encourage residents, workers, and visitors in Teton County, Wyoming, to enroll in or update their Teton_WY Alerts account by July 4th, 2025, for a chance to win one of five home emergency preparedness kits valued at over $250 each. The free public alerting service, accessible at tcincident.org, is a critical tool for delivering life-saving information during emergencies, such as wildfires, floods, or other incidents.

To participate, individuals can visit tcincident.org and click “Sign Up” to create a new Teton_WY Alerts account or “Update” to log in and verify their existing account’s contact information. New and existing users are encouraged to add one or more Teton County addresses where they spend time, enabling geo-targeted alerts for specific areas. The system, powered by Everbridge, offers customizable alert preferences and improved features compared to the previous Nixle system, ensuring timely and relevant notifications.
The prize drawing, open from June 1 to July 4, 2025, offers winners emergency kits containing first aid supplies, an emergency radio, hygiene and sanitation items, a solar inflatable lantern, water filtration equipment, and more. These kits are designed to enhance household preparedness for disasters, aligning with Teton County Emergency Management’s mission to build a resilient community.
Coordinator Rich Ochs emphasized the importance of registration, noting that receiving timely alerts is the first step in disaster preparedness.
