The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department is preparing to put its Strategic Master Plan into motion and is hosting a two-day public open house this week so that the public can learn more and provide feedback to staff and consultants managing the projects. In 2019, the community approved a SPET initiative to fund the Recreation Center expansion, but additional plans will be discussed at the open house.
After a year-long public outreach campaign in 2017, the Teton County Parks & Recreation Department created a Strategic Master Plan that identified areas where the they could improve or increase services including plans for Wayne May Park, Powderhorn Park, Miller Park, and Wilson Boat Ramp The event is being held at the Recreation Center gym on today and Wednesday from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm. The public is invited to drop by, ask questions, take a survey, and provide feedback on the various projects that are in the works.
