Teton County Planning Commission to hear wine permit

The Teton County Planning commission is set to hear a proposal that would grant a conditional use permit for a local wine-making business to allow wine tastings.
The request is to amend an existing Conditional Use Permit for the Jackson Hole Winery on a private lot within the Dairy Subdivision.
The applicant currently has an existing Teton County Winery License to produce wine on the subject property.
Late last year, owners Robert and Linda Schroth were told of a complaint submitted by neighbors to the Winery stating that it was operating beyond the standards established for an Accessory Use.
Based on the neighbors’ complaints, the Jackson Hole Winery filed an application to amend their permit to address the concerns of the neighbors and to allow it to sell wine by the glass and to provide a shuttle van to be used for groups.
They are asking to use the patio area at the back of a barn where a tent is erected from April to November and asking to employ 2-3 part-time employees in place of 1 full-time employee.
The Planning Director recommends approval noting that events that exceed 50 people are prohibited and there could be no amplified music.
The winery can’t employ more than 2 persons residing off-site and cannot sell wine by the glass.
They also cannot conduct tours of wine making facilities or serve food.
Parking on Boyles Hill County Road by visitors to the Winery is not permitted and the Winery shall enforce this condition.
The meeting is tonight at 6pm.
