Teton County School District #1 is eligible to receive $3.9 million in one-time federal American Rescue Plan Act funds. The purpose of these funds is to help maintain safe and effective operations of the schools and address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on learning and student’s social-emotional well-being.
The funding requires at least 20% of the funds to be used to address learning loss, mental health, and student well-being. To receive the funding, the school district must develop and obtain stakeholder input on a Safe Return to School/Smart Start Plan.
While the district’s current plan meets all requirements outlined by the Wyoming Department of Education and considers Teton County and Wyoming Department of Health orders, a survey of the district’s constituents is required to provide their input on the plan.
In addition to the Safe Return to School/Smart Start Plan, the District must develop an Implementation Plan that outlines how it will use the federal funding to address the impacts of COVID on the students and schools. A survey is required on that plan as well. Those surveys are available online on the Teton County School District website and are due by January 31st.
