Jackson is gearing up for its annual Fourth of July parade, and Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) will add a special touch with a helicopter flyover. To ensure safety, TCSAR is requesting that residents and visitors refrain from flying drones in the Town of Jackson from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 4th.The flyover, featuring TCSAR’s dedicated H125 helicopter, highlights the organization’s critical role in providing year-round emergency search and rescue services in Teton County and beyond. The parade, organized by the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce, starts at 10 a.m., traveling from the Teton County Fairgrounds down Snow King Avenue, onto Broadway in Town Square, and ending on Willow Street. The helicopter’s presence will showcase TCSAR’s commitment to keeping the community and backcountry visitors safe.Drones pose a significant safety risk to low-flying helicopters, and TCSAR emphasizes that avoiding drone use during this hour is essential to prevent potential collisions or disruptions. The organization, which relies on 39 volunteers and a custom rescue helicopter acquired in 2023 through community donations, encourages everyone to enjoy the parade responsibly. For more information about TCSAR or the flyover, contact the Teton County Search and Rescue Foundation. Join the community in celebrating Independence Day while prioritizing safety during this exciting event.
