More Democrats than Republicans turned out for yesterday’s primary race. Unofficial totals show that out of 5798 ballots cast, 2975 were blue votes, while 2633 were red. Only 190 non-partisan voters tossed their votes into the ballot box.
Teton County currently has 13906 registered voters, a slight majority of which are Republicans. 2857 voters on the rolls are independent.
Voter turnout for the Democrats was 54 percent, Republicans 47 percent, and Independent 7 percent.
Overall turnout for all voters was 41.69%.
