A fire was reported on Teton Pass about 6:00 pm Monday, apparently the result of a lightning strike. A statement from Bridger-Teton National Forest says it was a single tree on the south side of the highway by the communication sites that was struck by lightning. Four Teton Interagency Fire wildland firefighters were dispatched to the scene and hoped to have it quickly contained. Currently, the fire danger is rated “very high,” and conditions in the area are drying quickly making it easy for a fire to start, spread quickly and burn intensely. Forest officials had high praise for the multiple people who called this fire start in.
