Teton School District 401 announced Friday that all high school extracurricular activities for the 2019-2020 school year have been canceled by the Idaho High School Activities Association due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. In an official statement, the district said, “We are mindful of the competitors, coaches, and advisors at this time and feel for their lost opportunities. We are especially mindful of the seniors who are missing their final activities.” Furthermore, the state action cancelling the extracurricular activities states that the agency’s policies, based on state board of education soft closure and current IHSAA rules, prohibit the use of school facilities and coaches from organizing or directing team workouts and practices remain in effect until May 18th.
