Teton School District 401 Board of Trustees has reviewed the first draft of a plan created by the district’s administrative team. That draft plan provides three different possible school situations for reopening as the community continues to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Basics of the three levels would be; one would entirely reopen school to students, a second combines both in-person and remote learning in which students would attend school in person two days a week, alternating days so fewer would be in the buildings at any given time. And in a third, schooling would be an all home-based learning model. Teachers would monitor online efforts on days when students are not in the classroom. School Superintendent Monte Woolstenhulme points out that this is truly a draft and details will be worked out by August 10th. The local level of community transmission will be the determining factor regarding which education level is deemed safe for public school students.
