A study commissioned by the Teton Village Association ISD and conducted by BBC Research and Consulting has revealed that the Village is a significant contributor to Wyoming’s economy, with 5% of the state’s hotel bed base located there, and their sales tax representing 3% of Wyoming’s total Sales & Use tax in 2019.
The study also found that the Village generates nearly $4.4 million per year in Teton County general fund revenues, with over $1.8 million more than county service costs, and $2 million in annual sales tax receipts that fund the Town of Jackson general fund.
Moreover, the study highlighted the community as a particularly productive source of county tax revenue, with its high value property, lodging sales, and retail activity, while also providing most county services on its own.
The study shows that Teton Village creates a more stable, multi-seasonal Jackson Hole economy. That means more efficient government services, culture, arts, and museums.
