One of Jackson Hole’s iconic watering holes will be closing indefinitely early next week. The Virginian Saloon and Grill will be closed for a long remodel starting Tuesday August 18th. Manager Nick Coca says effective then, the entire saloon staff has been laid off. Beyond that, Coca says it is uncertain what is in the future for the saloon. Early last month, Orion Companies, in partnership with Waterton real estate investment company based in Chicago, purchased the property and said they planned to carry on the legacy of the Virginian Lodge. According to President & Chief Executive Officer of Orion Companies Robert Huggins, the company is committed to respecting the heritage of the property with plans for a remodel of facilities, while maintaining the unique character of the iconic brand. At this time, no changes or interruption of services have been announced for the hotel or the RV park.
