On February 16th, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort hosted the seventh annual Kings & Queens of Corbet’s, where skiers Tim McChesney and Ana Eyssimont were named this year’s King and Queen.
The event saw 24 elite skiers and snowboarders tackle the notorious Corbet’s Couloir, with McChesney and Eyssimont each securing their first titles and $10,000 in prize money. McChesney impressed with a dub cork 1080 off the top cornice followed by a switch 1080 at the bottom, while Eyssimont dazzled with a big straight air into a backflip.
In the snowboard category, Yuki Kadono and Sarka Pancochova were the top performers, earning $5,000 each for their high scores. Kadono executed a cork three and a frontside 1080, and Pancochova showcased a stylish straight air into a switch 540.
The competition took place under ideal conditions following a fresh snowfall on February 11th, providing perfect powder for the athletes. Besides the main titles, JHMR also distributed $50,000 in total prize money, with second and third place in each category receiving $3,000 and $2,000 respectively.
Participants like Alex Hackel and Tristen Lilly in skiing, and Jed Sky and Spencer Whiting in snowboarding, also put up strong performances. On the women’s side, Claire McPherson and Piper Kunst were notable competitors in skiing, with Madison Blackley and Erika Vikander making their mark in snowboarding.
The People’s Choice award, voted on through an online platform in collaboration with GORE-TEX and Mammut, will be announced via JHMR’s Instagram. A full replay of the event is available on the resort’s YouTube channel, with detailed results posted on their website.
