With Christmas behind us now, some area residents may be already taking down their Christmas trees and looking for a way to dispose of them. Carrie Bell, Waste Diversion and Outreach Coordinator for Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling says recycling of discarded trees is now available.
Bell says all lights, ornaments and tinsel must be removed from the trees before they are dropped off. Then, once the trees are collected, Bell says they will be picked up to be made into fuel.
The Trash Transfer Station is open from 8 am until 3 pm Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9 am until 1 pm while trees may be dropped off at the rodeo grounds at any time.
