Its Election Day in America and thousands of Teton County residents will cast their votes today for National, State, and local races.
With polls closing at 7pm tonight, we will soon know the outcome of the races for public office and the fate of millions of dollars of tax proposals.
Of importance in Teton County is the Commissioners race which sees a majority of the seats up for grabs. 3 out of 5 commission spots hang in the balance with two incumbents, Luther Probst, and Mark Newcomb facing four other candidates. Peter Long, Kasey Mateosky, Tom Segerstrom, and Wes Gardner are all on the ballot.
In the Town Council race, current office holders Jonathan Schechter and Arne Jorgensen face a challenge from Kat Rueckert and Devon Viehman.
Steve Duerr is challenging Mike Gierau for State Senate.
Incumbent Mike Yin is facing Jim McCollum for Wyoming House District 26.
Andrew Byron and Bob Strobel are running for the House seat for Wyoming District 22, and Paul Vogelheim and Liz Storer are vying for State House District 23.
Four Hospital trustee seats will be decided among 8 candidates and three Teton County School Board positions will be chosen from seven contenders.
Teton County voters will be required to show ID when voting today.
