The majority of Jackson’s Town Council wanted to change the possible number of board members on the valley’s Travel and Tourism Board, but Teton County said no.
At Monday’s Joint Information Meeting the two groups of elected officials discussed changing the number of members from 7 to 9.
Councilman Jon Schechter said the large workload of the board that determines the disposition of millions of dollars of Lodging Tax collections, required more members.
Teton County Commissioner Mark Barron said the board, which must be made up of a majority of tourism-industry representatives, has operated effectively for years with seven members and moved to keep the roster the same.
