The town of Jackson and Energy Conservation Works celebrate the inauguration of DC fast charging stations for electric vehicles at the town parking garage today.
Energy Conservation Works collaborated with the Town of Jackson and Teton County to secure funding for the projects, which came through Town of Jackson 2010 SPET Funding and Teton County Energy Mitigation Program funds.
Yellowstone Teton Clean Cities was a key technical partner in these and the other public-owned EV charging projects in the community.
The new locations come in addition to the more than twelve free, public stations throughout the valley that this partnership has netted. The balance of public-owned stations are level II chargers which provide 10-20 miles of range per hour, whereas the DC fast charger can provide 60-80 miles in 20 minutes of charging.
All other fast charging stations in the community are part of Tesla’s charging network and are only compatible with Tesla vehicles.
The EVE stations were funded with matching support from the 2010 SPET (#6) Project Fund for public energy efficiency projects and from Teton County’s Energy Mitigation Program fund. That fund is derived from fees collected on larger, new building construction projects within Teton County.
