As the number of COVID cases in Teton County continues to steadily climb, the Town of Jackson is responding to respect and protect town employees and customers. Currently, about one in every four positive COVID cases is a ‘breakthrough’ case where fully vaccinated individuals test positive.
This does not mean vaccinations are not effective, as vaccinated individuals contracting COVID have less-severe symptoms. It does mean, however that the Delta variant, which is present in Teton County, necessitates more precaution.
Consequently, as of Thursday, the Town has reinstated a requirement for masks to be worn by Town employees while at work inside and by customers entering Town facilities. Eventually, Town Council meetings may also revert back to being virtual again.
