The Town of Jackson is providing sexual harassment training all its employees for the first time since the pandemic, when they had suspended the practice.
In order to meet the Federal Transit Authority audit requirements related to Equal Employment Opportunities, all employees that are involved in transit related jobs must receive discrimination and EEO training on a periodic basis and supervisors and managers must receive training within 90 days of their appointment.
So, the Town has secured training services through a company called Traliant that covers both harassment and discrimination subjects through interactive online resources. The computer‐based training uses short videos, multiple choice questions, and current workplace scenarios to teach the content.
As soon as the program is loaded onto the computer system, staff will begin implementing the training for all personnel and new hires. Elected officials are also being encouraged to take the training class once it is up, running, and available.
