Residential water rates are going up in the town of Jackson. In 2020, the town empaneled a 10-member volunteer citizen review committee to study how the town charges for water and wastewater service. Following the study, Town Council approved the committee’s recommendations, and on July first, customers will notice changes in their monthly bills.
The committee found that an estimated $24-million in water and sewer infrastructure investment is necessary over the next 10 years to keep the system functioning well. In light of the needs, it was pointed out that current rates in Jackson are among the lowest in the state and among similar communities around the Rocky Mountain West.
