The Town of Jackson, who spent at least 79000 dollars on it, announced that it will be hosting an open house to present the results of a recent parking survey. The open house will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 6:00-9:00pm at the Wort Hotel in the Jackson Room. All members of the community are invited to attend.
In December of 2017, the Town Council approved a contract with Kimley-Horn, LLC to study parking in the downtown core district and to provide a town-wide parking and mobility framework. Parking counts were conducted in July of 2018 adding to other data which has been collected throughout the year.
The purpose of this open house is to provide an overview of the data collected and explain the next steps in the process. A formal presentation of the findings will begin at 6:00pm followed by a question and answer session.
“Parking is a key component of our overall transportation and quality of life here in Jackson, and it’s critical that we have accurate and robust data to report to the community and to the Town Council,” Planning Director Tyler Sinclair said. “It’s also very important for us to hear community member’s ideas and input regarding parking.”
