For many in the community, it is their tradition to take down and dispose of their Christmas trees between now and January 1st. Residents may bring their undecorated Christmas tree to either the Trash Transfer Station or the Rodeo/Fair Grounds for free.
However, Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and recycling emphasizes, the trees must be delivered undecorated. The tree recycling areas will remain open for disposal of trees through January 31st.
Meanwhile, commercial entities hauling Christmas trees must use the Trash Transfer Station and will be charged $83/ton. The disposed Christmas trees will be chipped and used as fuel rather than sent to the landfill.
