Wyoming’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell from 4.1% in December to 4.0% in January while Teton County scored appreciably below that. From December to January, most county unemployment rates followed their normal seasonal pattern and increased. According to the Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services,jobless rates usually increase in January because of seasonal job losses in construction, transportation & utilities, and other sectors. But in Teton County, the amount of unemployment was tied with Niobrara County for the lowest rate in the state, at 3.0%. Neighboring Sublette County reported 5.0% of the population were jobless which was a tenth of a percent higher than last year at this time, and Lincoln County came it at 4.7% idled just as it was in February of 2018. Statewide, the 4.0% unemployment rate was the same as the nationwide unemployment rate.
