Wyoming’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose slightly from 3.6% in July to 3.7% in August, which is still lower than its year-ago level of 4.2%. At the same time, most county unemployment rates followed their normal seasonal pattern and decreased from July to August. The largest decreases were seen in Campbell County which dropped from 5.7% to 4.5%, Washakie County; down from 4.3% to 3.5%, and Albany County decreasing from 4.0% to 3.2%. Teton County had Wyoming’s lowest unemployment rate in August at 2.0%. Altogether, 17,111 Teton County residents were employed during the month, down 230 from July, but still more than were employed in August of 2018. Meanwhile, Sublette County’s unemployment rate dropped from 4.1% in July to 3.9% in August.
