Wyoming’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose slightly from 3.5% in June to 3.6% in July, which was still lower than its July 2018 level of 4.1% and slightly lower than the current U.S. unemployment rate of 3.7%. Most county unemployment rates fell slightly or stayed the same from June to July. Teton County’s jobless rate dropped from 2.3% to 2.0% for the lowest unemployment in the state, while Sublette County’s rate increased from 3.6% to 4.1%. According to the Wyoming Department of Workforce Service, 17,352 or Teton County’s workforce of 17,710 people were employed during July. While there were more people at work during July 2019 than the previous year, the unemployment rate was a tenth of a percent higher than July 2018 because there were fewer in the workforce.
