The University of Wyoming has announced it has experienced a substantial increase in enrollment following Governor Mark Gordon’s announcement of a grant-funding program for students. Two weeks ago, Governor Gordon announced that those unemployed or underemployed as a result of the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic were eligible for tuition grants worth $2,500 this fall under the federal CARES Act. He also said that all university students would be eligible for $3,250 in funding to pay for non-tuition costs. Those grants are available until November first. Early this month, the university had said it was facing a 20% decline in fall enrollment, but most recently, the enrollment decline was in the single digits.
