Governor Mark Gordon last night announced that the University of Wyoming was extending Spring Break in deference to the COVID-19 epidemic.
“The University of Wyoming announced today that they have extended spring break through March 29th. The extended break is designed to provide time to faculty to better prepare for online only teaching should that become necessary. The university will continue to monitor the situation.” Gordon Said
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Ballow says there will not be an across-the-board decision about any school district closures, but those decisions would be made at the local levels. Governor Gordon assured that Wyoming has been preparing to deal with this eventuality for some time now so it is not the time to panic, but to get the facts straight and make the calls to get the information needed. Gordon assured reporters participating in the news conference that at this time, there is only one confirmed case of the Novel Coronavirus in Wyoming.
