Paul Beaupré, MD, CEO of St. John’s Health said Friday that Teton County is in a dire situation and has been through one of the most difficult weeks of the pandemic in Teton County to date.
Beaupré said that six COVID patients are in the hospital and three Living Center residents are isolated and being treated for COVID in the acute care hospital unit.
Four hospital employees have the virus an a further 20 are quarantined because of possible COVID-19 exposure.
The virus is also impacting the ranks on Fire and EMS personnel and their ability to respond to emergencies.
Beaupre used his weekly COVID update to urge residents to, “Say no to the invitation to socialize in a risky setting or in groups, consider how your children, and especially your teens, can alter their activities and lower the risk they will become infected and spread the disease, do not eat or drink around others outside of household members who are unmasked, to maintain 6 feet of distance between you and others and get your flu vaccine for your own health and to minimize the chance you will need to seek medical care in the health system this winter.
